This painting depicts designs associated with the soakage water site of Pukaratjina,
north of the Pollock Hills in Western Australia. A large group of women came
from the west and passed through this site during their travels to the east.

George Tjungurrayi was born in the desert in the vicinity of Kiwirrkura
and is the younger brother of Naata Nungurrayi. George walked in
to Papunya after
living at Mukula, west of Kiwirrkura. He commenced painting for Papunya Tula
Artists in the early 1980s.
