(BORN CIRCA 1935)
Acrylic

107 x 28cm
This painting depicts designs associated with the travels of a group of women
to the rockhole site of Yumarra, near Tjukula in Western Australia. The women
had travelled from Punkilpirri, a large permanent water site, north-west of
Docker River in the Walter James Range. They later continued their travels
to the north through Tjukula and Tjalili.
The arcs represent the sandhills in the country through which they passed.
The straight lines emanating from the central roundel depict spun hair which
is used to make hair-belts which are worn during ceremonies.
