This painting depicts designs associated with the
travels of an old woman, Kutungka Napanangka, from the west. She visited
the soakage water site of Tjintjintjin which is west of Mantati Outstation,
approximately seventy kilometres west of the Kintore Community. The
circles represent the edible berries known as kampurarrpa or desert
raisin from the small shrub Solanum centrale. These plants grow in
profusion in this area. She then travelled further east to Muruntji,
south-west of Mt. Liebig. This old woman is said to be a bit of a 'devil-devil'
as she kills and eats people.
