Bobby West Tjupurrula (born circa 1958)

This painting depicts the claypan site of Pulyurlnga, north-west of Mt.Webb in Western Australia, Imythological times, a large group of Tingari Men camped at this site before travelling to Tarkul. At Pulyurlnga the men were crawling around on the claypan. The lines in the painting show the tracks they made. Since events associated with the Tingari Cycle are of a secret nature, no further detail was given.

Bobby is the son of Freddy West Tjakamarra, one of the original shareholders of Papunya Tula Artists. He was born at the rockhole site of Tjamu Tjami, which is east of Kiwirrkura. He commenced painting for Papunya Tula Artists in the late 1980s
