This painting depicts designs associated with the
rockhole and soakage water site of Marrapinti, west of the Pollock
Hills in Western Australia. The lines in the work represent the
sandhills surrounding the site.
Five women camped at this site gathering and eating the edible berries and
fruit growing in the vicinity. These include the kampuarrpa or desert raisin
from the small shrub Solanum centrale and the pura or bush tomato from the
small shrub Solanum chippendalei.
