The Modernist 2020
Scott Livesey Galleries, 14/05/2020 to 06/06/2020
THE MODERNIST 2020In calling this body of work the modernist I am recognising the long pathway I have walked as a painter to get here. Nine sophisticated art galleries exhibiting in the basement of a raw, European-influenced space p... Read More >
Expat
Scott Livesey Galleries, 29/08/2015 to 19/09/2015
Although I live and work somewhat in isolation, my work evolves naturally and sometimes connects subliminally to world issues. As an expat, I see my painting as having various sources of inspiration - I think about past landscapes and their forms and colours when painting new works, together with a continual renewal of process, it all comes together in a collective way.It is the variation of space and form, how it is treated, that creates the depth in the works; not unlike the differences in culture to create a rich depth of field in a large landscape that can mirror other places....
